    The free upgrade sounds a bit too good to be true, can you confirm that it really is a free upgrade from economy to premium economy once per year just by spending £5000 on the virgin atlantic credit card !?

    yes you can really earn up to two free upgrades per year !! That’s two Premium Economy reward upgrades just by Spending £5,000 on card purchases per year with your Virgin American Express Black Credit Card (or £10,000 with the Virgin American Express White Credit Card) and when you next redeem your miles to buy a flight, you’ll get a free upgrade from Economy to Premium Economy. When you’ve spent your next £5,000 (or £10,000 on the Virgin Amex White Card), you can do it again. You can do this up to twice a year, every year.

    So not only do you get a free flight with your Virgin miles, you get a free upgrade up to twice per year, and don’t forget the companion tickets you can get too !
